Stay Fit– Be Well– and Have Fun

With the completion of the recreation center, which comprises floors 2, 3 and 4 of the new Power Center on Forbes Avenue, Duquesne’s recreation and fitness programs have been expanded and enhanced.

Recreation at Duquesne is now coordinated through the Division of Student Life and includes intramural sports, club sports, fitness and wellness programs and special events.

Recreation Facilities and Programs

The following facilities, programs and equipment are available to all members of the campus community free of charge:

  • Power Recreation Center (opened Jan. 7, 2008)
    • Basketball/volleyball courts
    • Racquetball courts
    • Cardio equipment
    • Fitness studios
    • Weight room
    • Exercise classes
  • Towers Swimming Pool
  • McCloskey Field
  • Basketball/Street Hockey Court
  • Tennis Court

Eligibility and Access
All students, faculty, staff, and administrators currently enrolled or employed at Duquesne University and presenting a validated ID card may use any recreational facility during recreation hours or participate in any of the recreation events or activities.

Stay cool while getting fit! Click here for the current group fitness schedule for the Recreation Center now! All classes are open to faculty, staff, and students  of Duquesne and are FREE with no need to sign up! Bring your university ID, towel, and water bottle and maintain that healthy lifestyle you started in January!



Controlled access to the Power Recreation Center for Duquesne students and employees is provided at the second floor entrance, accessible from elevators in the lobby or from Sklar Skywalk.
